These safety features are something to look out for with any bioethanol fireplace you purchase, as they reduce risk of a fire incident or other safety incident occurring at your property. Our range of indoor bioethanol smart fires have top of the range safety features including:

• Child lock: Everyone should enjoy the warmth and ambience of a fire – even children and babies. But if you have youngsters in the house, a child lock is a critical feature for your fireplace to keep them safe and free from harm.

• Overheat sensors: These crucial sensors pick up when your fire is overheating, alerting you to the issue and cutting out the fire to prevent this problem from exacerbating.

• Sensors to prevent filling while hot: One issue which may occur is accidental spillage of bioethanol while filling up the fireplace. This is natural human error, but can be dangerous if this occurs when the fireplace is hot or if there is an open flame nearby – and could result in a fire incident breaking out. That’s why our inbuilt sensors are a vital safety feature, preventing the fireplace from being filled while it’s hot in order to avoid this issue. This feature, along with making sure any spilled fuel is washed from surfaces, tools or your hands, is important for safe fire fuelling.

• Sensors that cut the fire out if oxygen levels become too low: Otherwise known as an oxygen depletion sensor, these clever devices pick up on low oxygen levels in the room. This is good news, because if oxygen levels reduce too much, the room will become stuffy and uncomfortable and the flame will become reduced. Therefore, a sensor which picks up on the problem quickly and cuts the fire out and allow you to either open a door or window to improve the air in the room, before continuing with your fire.

• Sensors to stop the fire being turned on immediately after it has been turned off: To give the fireplace time to cool down and return to stability, our fireplaces also have sensors to prevent it from being turned on immediately after it has been turned off to allow for this readjustment period.
