RAIS 2:1 Tunnel Fire
Our client, based in Wimbledon, was looking to install a double-sided wood burning fireplace. After much research, we advised them that the DEFRA approved RAIS 2:1 fire would be the most suitable to meet their needs.
We had to create an opening on two sides of the chimney breast and we fitted a new lintel and a flue liner for the new fire. The RAIS fire was installed and plastered; in total, the job was completed over the course of 3 days.
Balanced Flue Fire and Concentric Flue System
This project was for a client living in Chelsea Harbour. The works involved running a concentric flue system through the property for installation with a balanced flue fireplace. We then boxed in the fire and flue with stud work.
We were able to complete the installation in 2 days.
Fireplace Restoration in Earlsfield
We were contacted by a client who hoped to bring a cast iron fireplace back to life. When we picked up the cast iron unit, it was in bad condition and didn’t have a shelf.
We were able to offer an effective solution by sandblasting the cast iron and then spraying it black. The results were outstanding.
DEFRA Approved Stove and Twin Wall System
For this project in Wimbledon, our client wanted to install a wood burning stove into a single storey extension.
We were able to install a neat DEFRA approved stove in a powder coating with a twin wall flue system which went straight up and out onto the roof.
Flexible Flue Lining in Peckham
Upon sweeping and smoke testing our client’s flue in Peckham, we found it to be leaking at multiple parts of the stack.
The fire was for use as an open solid fuel fire. After doing a test core, we were able to fit a large 8”/200mm flue liner to comply with building regulations.
Hogarth House in Richmond Upon Thames
This was one of our major summer projects in 2017. Hogarth House is a listed building in the heart of Richmond Upon Thames and required thirteen fireplaces which were made bespoke or refurbished.
There were several obstacles that needed to be overcome in the property, especially with it being a listed building. Luckily, with over 18 years’ experience we were able to achieve a standard that surpassed expectations.
We were able to adeptly handle each problem and we completed a great deal of restoration work, building bespoke fireplaces to sympathetically match the originals. We also installed a special Furanflex flue lining to all thirteen fireplaces to comply with building regulations, ensuring the work was suitably tailored to Listed and Graded buildings.
